One of our partners for donation is the Goodwill of Central Texas. The Goodwill uses many of the items that we provide to them to improve lives and resell to support their efforts. In their most recent disclosure from 2017, the Goodwill of Central Texas graduated 140 students from excel center high school, they placed 2,948 individuals into jobs and 10,356 people received job-related services. They have a number of locations across Austin. Some things that you may not know about the Goodwill of Central Texas. They were able to achieve 89% of their zero waste goal. That is an impressive number! Further, they were able to divert 86M pounds of items away from Central Texas landfills in 2017. You have to be impressed with a group that is focused on strong community partnerships and valuing Mother Earth at the same time. Here’s to you Goodwill of Central Texas!
Some of the items that they take include appliances and, furniture in working condition. Books/Magazines, musical instruments, tools, and many other things. You must make sure that you have 15 items or less. Remember, the items must be on the ground floor, on the porch or in the garage. They are not able to go upstairs for items.
